About Touch of Love Midwifery
Bio

Dorothy Bauman, CPM, is a Certified Professional Midwife with the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) since 2024. She began her training through hands-on apprenticeship coinciding with academic study in 2018, and began to be primary midwife of births in 2021. She trained with a number of NARM registered Preceptors in both Ohio, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, primarily under Freida Miller, CPM and Diane Goslin, CPM. She also trained and became certified through Doulas of North America International (DONA) as a Certified Birth Doula earlier on in her Midwifery journey. She is currently working on her Post-Graduate International Midwifery Diploma with Mercy In Action college of Midwifery. Dorothy holds current certificates in CPR (BLS) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
As a past-time, Dorothy raised and hand-milked dairy goats. With eight sisters and a brother, she finds delight in God's nature, music, and enjoys precious family time.
Dorothy is passionate in her work to save the lives of mothers and babies, striving for a peaceful birth experience as much as possible, and considers midwifery her ministry. Her faith in God is the leading factor in her care for women and families. Dorothy deeply loves helping mothers at home in Ohio, but has also given her time for those unique requests from women in other areas, traveling both to Canada and to Europe to attend home births. Besides, she helps to oversee a Russian Mennonite Clinic in Mexico as head midwife, which has taken her to Mexico for the majority of the time over the last while.
Dorothy's experience in Mexico has opened up new avenues of skill in various areas including ultrasound, blood work, IV therapy, wound care and suturing, childbirth education, reproductive health, family health care, and much more. Dorothy is also trained in breech and twin birth, and is supportive of other "high-risk" cases within a reasonable and agreeable range, weighing each individual situation uniquely.

"It is important to me that every woman I serve is empowered and educated to make informed choices for herself and her baby. It is important that we can trust one another as a working team. It is my greatest privilege to walk away from a birth or exam, knowing my clients are fully satisfied and pleased with their experience."
"The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation." Psalm 118:14
